By no means is Golden Milk something new; also known as a Turmeric Latte, you’ll find recipes all over the internet for variations of this golden elixir and people touting the health benefits therein. What I have here is my preferred version, perfected after several years of tweaking spices and mixing plant-milks. Deliciously spiced and perfectly creamy, this is the BEST golden milk recipe.

Golden milk can be enjoyed it as an alternative to hot chocolate or caffeinated tea in the winter months, especially closer to bed time. You’ll love it as a decadent wind-down treat, especially topped with some coco-whip.

Ready to try it? Whip up a batch, take a pic (because, let’s face it, Golden Milk is ridiculously photogenic), and tag me @veganinyyc I can’t wait to see your golden moments.

See you soon YYC!

Golden Milk

  • 1 inch piece peeled ginger root, grated
  • 1 inch piece peeled turmeric root, grated
  • ¼ tsp cloves
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • pinch black pepper
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup plain unsweetened soy milk

Instructions

  1. Combine turmeric, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper and milks, and whisk until smooth.

  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat whisking near constantly to prevent burning. Reduce heat and simmer for 3-ish minutes. Add maple syrup and vanilla; whisk to combine.
