Corn Dog Hot Dogs

Your basic corn dog is a midway staple; delicious cornmeal batter, smoky hot dog, made conveniently carry-able with the addition of a stick…

Typically topped with ketchup and/or mustard, you can make them even more delicious with the addition of queso and bakun – or better yet – crushed Takis! The Stampede version used Flaming Hot Cheetos but it’s all vegan here baby; Fuego Takis are vegan friendly and super spicy!

This post has TWO generous sponsors – Hearts Choices and Nacho Average Queso! Featuring Corn Dogs from Hearts Choices; have you seen their freezer section?! A wide variety of products including these delicious take-and-reheat corn dogs that are ready from your oven in about 20 minutes.

Once you have your corn dogs, you’re going to want to slather them in Nacho Average Queso (I used jalapeno flavour) and then top with either bakun bits and green onion, or some crushed Takis. Stampede’s version split the corn dog shell, and in an effort to closely replicate the original I did the same, but, to be honest, it’s so unnecessary that I left it out of the recipe.

What toppings would you use on a corn dog hot dog? If you decide to make these, don’t forget to tag me @veganinyyc and use the hash tag #10daysofveganstampede

See you tomorrow for Day 7!
