Dr Pepper Cauliflower Wings
Ingredients
- 1 head cauliflower, washed and cut into "wings"
- canola oil for frying
For the Batter
- 1 cup chickpea flour
- ½ tsp smoked salt or whatever salt you prefer
- ½ tsp fresh ground pepper
- 1 cup Dr Pepper soda
Instructions
-
Whisk together flour, salt, and a generous amount of pepper. Slowly stir in Dr Pepper, 1/4 cup at a time, until the flour is well-incorporated and the batter is smooth – you may not need all of it.
-
In your deep fryer or very deep pot, heat oil to 375F; cook the wings in a single layer in the basket, for about 3 minutes or until the outsides are golden brown.
-
Toss cooked wings in your favourite sauce to coat; I'm a big fan of hickory bbq.
Recipe Notes
**BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN DEALING WITH HOT OIL**
